Artist's Comments

A very fun study drawing I did from the book 'Faeries'--my two most favorite freehand artists of all time!-Brian Froud & Alan Lee

"Big or small, grotesque or dainty, most faerie types are characterized by a physical deformity of some kind..."

medium: 3b pencil and charcoal

YEEEEHHH!! Yipeeee!

-----edit-----
just incase your wondering what those ghost letters are on the bottom half, they're words from someone's note that was on the back of the page I was drawing on.

I drew this for someone in their yearbook a couple years ago (2001) using a photo reference of the owners head at a much younger age, as I did for a couple other people, with different drawings. The owner of the yearbook (a friend of mine through highschool) gave me a photo of her at a younger age, and I used the head from that for the larger faery in the drawing.

This was the only one I was able to take home and make a scanned copy of Shrug it was fun to do for them Nod ...you should have seen their expressions:) (Smile) sorta like- :? (Confused) LOL followed by a - 'You did that:? (Confused) ' and then some juberish I couldn't quite make out, but it sounded like they were happy:) (Smile)
...ok, I'm done with this edit Nod

Thanks for looking!!
Hug

LOVE the comments!!

This was my clarification and highlight to renderludes' query:

Wow! thank you for your comment... I meen your mistaking my drawing from the origional artist's work is just about the best compliment I can get, considering those two gifted artist are my freehand role models.
ONE thing I lack, or am less skiled at is just making it all up, poses and everything while at the same time lookin like a pro.
So I study in this fasion so as to flex that detailest inside me while learning the wonderful play of poses which that book is overflowing with, both detail and pose. I position the composition on my own though and have a few personal touches as well of course.

THANKS AGAIN for your yummy comments!! I think I'll go have a creative sandwhich now...
mmmmmmmmm..ssandwhich...
